Signed with Harkness Roses of the UK, Camden Nursery Awarded Exclusive General Agency Rights in Australia

Recently, Camden Nursery has officially signed a cooperation agreement with Harkness Roses, a century-old legendary rose brand from the UK, and won the exclusive general agency rights for Harkness Roses across Australia. This strategic cooperation marks the official full launch of the world’s top rose varieties with a history of more than 140 years in Australia, injecting new vitality into the Australian horticultural market and reshaping the local high-end rose consumption pattern.

Founded in 1879 in Yorkshire, the UK, Harkness Roses is one of the world’s oldest and most renowned rose breeders. Passed down through five generations of the family, Harkness is famous worldwide for its extraordinary flower shapes, rich fragrance, strong disease resistance and continuous flowering characteristics. It has bred more than 200 classic rose varieties, participated in over 140 sessions of the UK Chelsea Flower Show and won 18 gold medals, and is a top floral brand certified by the Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) of the UK. Its representative varieties such as ‘Chandos Beauty’, ‘Catherine’s Rose’ and ‘Claire Marshall’ have become the first choice for high-end gardens and landscape landscaping with their elegant appearance and outstanding quality, popular all over the world.

As a leading nursery in Australia in terms of scale, Camden has deep roots in the local market for many years, focusing on the introduction, cultivation and promotion of high-quality flowers. It has a complete nursery cultivation system, a mature channel network and a professional horticultural service team, and has long been committed to bringing world-class horticultural varieties and planting concepts to Australian consumers.

According to the cooperation agreement, Camden will be fully responsible for the introduction, cultivation, market promotion, sales and after-sales technical support of the entire range of Harkness roses in Australia. The first batch of introduced varieties will cover multiple categories such as Hybrid Tea Roses, Floribunda Roses and Climbing Roses, including a number of star varieties that have won international horticultural awards, all of which have undergone strict screening to ensure they can perfectly adapt to Australia’s unique climate and soil conditions.

A person in charge of Camden said: “We are extremely honoured to reach an in-depth cooperation with a world-class rose brand like Harkness. Harkness represents the essence of British horticulture and the craftsmanship of a century of breeding, and the quality, disease resistance and ornamental value of its varieties are second to none in the world. In the future, relying on our local advantages, we will bring the classic beauty of Harkness roses to every Australian gardening enthusiast, comprehensively improving the quality and aesthetic taste of Australian horticulture from family gardens and balcony potted plants to municipal parks and commercial landscapes.”

The global person in charge of Harkness Roses said: “Australia has a vast horticultural market and passionate flower lovers, and we have long been looking for a trustworthy partner here. Camden Nursery’s professional strength, market reputation and passion for horticulture are highly consistent with Harkness’s brand philosophy. We believe that through this cooperation, Harkness roses will bloom with unique charm in Australia, adding more fragrance and colour to local gardens.”

It is reported that the first batch of Harkness rose seedlings has completed quarantine introduction and cultivation trials, and will be launched to the Australian market through Camden’s nurseries, authorized dealers and online platforms. At that time, Australian consumers will be able to experience the legendary charm of century-old British roses up close and create authentic British-style gardens at home.
